Myself and Redwood will be trekking Scar Ridge next weekend this is a Bushwhack does any know what the best approach is for this summit is it trekking up one of the ski trails on Loon and then vectoring into the woods at some point and head for he summit?

Does anyone know what trail conditions are on Drakes Brook Trail up to Jennings Peak and Sandwich Dome? Will hiking those trails this weekend is there still a deep snow pack are snowshoes still a requirement in the upper elevations. I hate post holing.

My buddies and I will over_night on Cabot first week of October and I'm trying to find out if there is a shelter or tent site at the lower elevations where we can hike a short distance drop the heavy gear and day hike to Cabot?:cool:
