After checking the weather report for the higher summits for Thurs the 5th, we were not expecting our plan of completing the Presidential Traverse in one day to happen. Winds 70-80 with 100 mph gusts. But we figured we would give it a try just in case the forecast was wrong,(it wasn't)...

I was just preparing for the forecast to be correct and finding a backup plan. I read about the rescue on MT. Chocorua.Somethings in life just make you say "What were they thinking" or Not Thinking.

Thanks for all the beta. I have very good laminated maps, and a back up gps, with all the pres coordinates. Definately going to bail if conditions suck. Hopefullyweather will be good to me.
