    Trail shoes versus Boots

I also support the Garmont brand. I have hiked from 18+ mile dayhikes to 4 day backpacking trips in the (low top) Garmont Nagevi s and my feet always feel great. After a recent 2 peak overnight trip (15 miles), I realized, after driving an hour and having been home for a half hour relaxing...

    who are these crazy people?

AlpineSummit- I would worry about getting injured in the dark, but I guess if there is 19 others, I wouldn't be so uneasy. Ben W- thanks, and thanks again for reminding me to give him the credit! I am intrigued by the nocturnal hiking thing now... I imagine the stars would be nice. I haven't...

    who are these crazy people?

Some entertaining replies... some I didn't get... but thanks also. I do agree that there may be times when hiking in the dark could be considered rational, however, my question is whether this is another subcategory of the 46ers, and if anyone has heard of, or is involved in, such a feat.

    Confirmed Gray Wolf in Adirondacks

Good advice, however, I wasn't prepared to cross the Ausable River to get a shot of it's tracks! (I did have my camera, but the animal ran before I could get a picture. It was probably a coyote. Also, it was more near your territory sixer... between Upper Jay and Jay on 9N.

    Confirmed Gray Wolf in Adirondacks

This thread has been quite entertaining. Thank you all. I wanted to reply because I am now convinced (though I know it's very doubtful) that I saw a grey wolf two weeks ago near Keene. I remember coyotes as smaller, mangy looking savages , but this guy was big and had bushy fur on his neck...
