Logging road just above the parking area very muddy but improves after the first 100 yards. Woods dry but bushwhacking is tough with all the tree scrap from the logging operations.

No special equipment needed.

Cairns directing where to go on logging roads had fallen over (we built them back up - temporarily fixing). Herd path is overgrown in the more "ferny" areas and hard to follow; moose skeleton is now just two leg bones and a broken skull. Canister tree had yards of bright pink flagging tape on it, which we removed.

Followed Damselfly's directions from summer 2012, but couldn't find the entrance to herd path. Part of the road described is now a rectangular clearing - logging operations. We headed straight up from there, up an old cut and over logging debris. We did find the herd path up on the ridge, which we followed back down to the rectangular clearing after tagging the summit. This path comes out on the right side of the clearing now, but is tough to find from the clearing. Best to head to the far right corner of the clearing and start up from there, you should intercept the path at some point.
