Hi,

Just bought a new camera (Sony NEX-5n), the first I've owned with high-def video capability.

It creates files in .MTS file format.

I am on Windows Vista.

Question - for those who have experience working with high-def video in Windows, what tools are you using? I've used Windows Movie Maker to make (low def) videos in the past. I'm doing some research into this, but I thought I'd ask here as well.

Looking for something free or at least cheap (spent all my money on the camera )

Thank you.

MTS files are a format called AVCHD, which is industry-standard. It's basically a container for h.264 video and AC-3 audio. I would expect that any decent HD movie-making software will support the format.

There's a nice little list of software on the AVCHD Wikipedia page.
