Caribou Valley Road (AKA Caribou Pond Road) has had a makeover! Bridges and culverts have been replaced. The bridges are rough as is road but with caution any vehicle can easily make it to the parking area 3.9 miles in. Note: barriers keep vehicles from going beyond this point. All logging roads up to the Redington herd paths are in good shape and herd paths were wet but easy to follow. Herd paths had two significant wet areas.

Special equipment required. Rain coat and pants and a sense of humor. We were soaked from the rain in the thirty minutes.

Improvements in the CVR may have been done to accommodate snowmobiles and atv's; there are mile markers and many fairly new small signs beyond the barriers and well into the logging roads. The rain ended by the time we got to the first logging road but the trees on the herd path and the wet areas soaked us to the bone. Conditions cleared by the time were were heading down. Saw two moose.
