Trails: Mt. Kineo trail, Donkey Hill cut-off, Three Ponds trail

A couple blowdowns on Kineo trail, one big one on the snowmobile part of the route. Kineo and Donkey Hill had areas of significant mud, Three Ponds too but less so. A couple puncheons, near the junction with Mt. Kineo trail, on Donkey Hill look to have been shifted out of place by running water from Irene I assume. The snowmobile bridge on Three Ponds (the first one of three going in) is still out and "less-than-awesome." Crossing is doable in low water but in higher flows it would become a pain.

Another nice afternoon in a beautiful little watershed. Fall colors near the wetlands in here were on fire. This is another hike I like to do in the early fall, been up here a dozen times maybe. Cloudy conditions really brought out the colors in the trees. Didn't go up to the third pond today, but took the short bushwhack over to the first pond after leaving the second.

The day's photos.
