I have not done a lot of hiking in the White Mountains in the past two years, although I completed the 48 several years ago. Does anyone know how muddy / wet and slippery Mt Osceola (or something nearby) is today 7/22/23? I’d like to hike it tomorrow.
Thanks from Greenpoint

Without going there I can predict wet muddy trails. The ground is saturated so its going to take awhile to dry out. Rocket 21 has done some fine work on Mt Tecumseh trail over the last several years and probably is the best drained trail which may reduce mud.

I did the Welch Dickey loop on Thursday, the only mud was in the first 15 or 20 minutes or so. Note it will be crowded, go very early.

Thanks for your reply. I figured that I should expect mud and wet trails, I was just trying to convince myself that it won’t be too slippery.
