Nice article; Dr. McLaren is a protege of Dr. Harry McDade, as noted at end of article.

"Osborne credited the team at Littleton with saving his life. He was told his body core temperature had dropped to 75 degrees and he was among the coldest people ever to be rewarmed to a healthy condition in New Hampshire."

 Yikes. Good work, Doc !

Dr. McLaren is one of those people you should meet if you get a chance. He is very knowledgeable, and also very entertaining. He speaks with a delightful Scottish accent.

In addition to hypothermia, he also is an expert on moose vs. vehicle collisions. He has a lot of first-hand knowledge on these. He has done a lot of speaking to different groups, emphasizing awareness/prevention where possible.
