Can anyone comment on the water depth on the North Twin trail river crossings? Also, are the bushwhacks around the crossings super-obvious?

(note, there is a trip report from mid-Sept, but I'd like an update if anyone has been on this trail since).

As usual, thanks! I always get great advice from you all!

The East Branch of the Pemi is just a little higher than average: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/nwis/uv?01074520

It looks like the recent heavy rainfall has run out.

Don't you want the Ammo in Bethlehem for North Twin (Little River)?

p.s. It too is only slightly above the average for this date, historically speaking.

Also, are the bushwhacks around the crossings super-obviousYes, as many people use it all the time, i.e. never attempt the two lower crossings. Just keep going upstream where the trail crosses the river.

Carla,

Just got back from a pemi traverse today via the Twins... The first two river crossings are easily avoided by a super-obvious, well cut and beaten "bushwhack" trail along the east bank. The third crossing was not too bad - I would have been fine had I not left my trek poles in the car and gotten clumsy on one rock. Water level wasn't bad or deep - just watch the slippery rocks!

Upstream of the third crossing, 100' or so, was easier than the official crossing, back on 8/17. Here is a video of the crossing. Upstream behind the fallen tree worked out great!

Thanks for all the good advice, including a video--now that's pretty special!

See you on the trails...
