Date of hike: 7/5

Parking: We parked about 1 mile past the metal grate bridge on the Caribou Valley Road.

Trail Conditions: A few wet and muddy spots, but very dry compared to the last few hikes I have done.

Comments: We walked up the CVR following all the small cairns. After about 3 miles, we came to a metal pole with ribbons tied to it sticking out of a cairn. We turned left and continued following the small cairns. The last 1/2 mile is in the trees and the steepest part of the hike. We met 5 women on there way down from the peak. They told us where to find the canister to the right of the clearing on a dying tree. On top there were no views. It was overcast with a light mist. There is a tower laying on the ground on the top. This is one of the easiest 4000 footers out there, just follow all the cairns. This hike was 9 miles RT. Another great day of hiking in Maine, with my son and nephew.
