The Shelburne Trails Club (STC) recently restored the views from Mt. Cabot which had become overgrown over the years. A friend at the STC sent me a photo (shown below) which shows the fruits of their labor! If you were to decide to take a hike to see this view in-person, then you might also want to extend your trek to check out the views from Mt. Ingalls on the Scudder Trail. The STC has brought this trail back to life after having been abandoned for many years.

For those who havent visited the Shelburne trails, they are a nice place to spend a day, not a lot of elevation but the terrain is interesting and the trail signage and maintenance is excellent.

Lefty, you don't need to give away any "secrets", but am I correct in assuming that the routes to Mts Jasper, Forist and Jericho are basically unofficial herd-paths and/or snowmobile trails? I've never hiked to any of those 3 mountains, but have often considered doing so.

That's correct basically..Mt. Jasper does have a combo of blue blazed trail built this summer by a youth group with AMC's guidance and snowmachine track..it starts at the end of Willard St. at the Berlin High School parking lot..Mt. Forist can be accessed by a gravel road that leaves Rt. 110 across from White Mt. Distributors (Budweiser)..there used to be an old trail that left the end of Madigan St...2 nice viewpoints on Forist..and Jericho has nice southeast facing cliffs that one needs to find once on the summit..Jericho can be hiked by going to the Berlin Water Treatment plant area off of Rt. 110 via St. Laurent Lane and taking snowmachine and poweline routes..hope that helps if you go sometime..there have been some posts on these mts....
