View Full Version : Annoying "request read receipt"

The pm system seems to be always setup to demand a read receipt. If I decline, it doesn't send the message.

when I'm on the receiving end, it asks if I want to confirm that I've read it. Well, sure, I don't care. But I don't think the the sender ever sees if I read it or not.

am I missing something entirely or does everyone notice this and politely ignore it?

When the site-robot asks if you want a read receipt, just hit "cancel" -- your message still goes through. I always do and people certainly get my PM's.

Exactly. The pop-up is for the receipt request, not the message.

If you go to User CP - Private Messages - Track Messages, you can see when they read your message. But apparently only if they click the read receipt box. Some of my old messages say unread, even though I know they were read.
