  • Jill, Thor and I enjoyed meeting you on the trail today! We had blue skies all the way to Field, then overcast and lots of wind from Willey and out Avalon. Still were able to beat the rain.
I'll post mine soon. I write more and I've been distracted for the last week or so and now have deadlines coming up.

    Hoping I would be blocked...and you're a friend. :D
    How did the gathering go?

Hopefully I'll have it floating before the warm weather goes. When I do, I'll let you know. You know of some good lakes/ponds/quiet rivers out your way?
    Bonnie!

Doesn't look like I'll make it. My daughter is off to college in 3 weeks and there's still too much to do to get her ready. Also, I've been working on the kayak all summer and I'm trying to get it finished up by the end of the warm weather.

It's too bad - I had some momentum built up for completing the ADK46 (I'm currently at 1 of 46 after last years successful summit of Dix) 8^)
Nice pics... I'm training to do the Stair Climb March 4th at the Corning tower in Albany. 802 stairs for Cystic Fibrosis.
Hi there!!! Wish we could hike together again? Doing some of the firetower mts again. Hadley today, cold but nice!
    Hey!

It's been a pretty great summer. My daughter (6) has liked hiking since she was a baby in a backpack, but she really caught fire this year. We did a dozen-plus trips in VT and NH. She's game for a bigger day than half the adults I know, and it's great fun watching someone be so excited about it all. She totes around her Long Trail nature guide everywhere she goes these days.

Had a few good solos, too -- the 19-hour, 10-peak, 35 mile Pemi traverse being probably the highlight. Hard to remember a finer day in the hills than that ...

I haven't forgotten about that Santanoni traverse -- when the pack hardens up in March or thereabouts, that trip is #1 on my to-do list this winter. I've been running my behind off, so I'll be ready.

    What's up with you?

    Matt
Hiya! Was wondering when you are going for #46?.... I would love to climb Haystack again
