Adirondacks mid Feb

Ok, I haven't looked at a calendar yet, but here's my plan-

Any weekend in February other than the first-
Friday morning drive to ADK loj- Ski/snowshoe in to Marcy Dam and set up camp. I'll bring a tent, but I'd prefer to spend some time building a quinzhee, time and snow permitting.

Saturday- hike either Algonquin or Marcy

Sunday morning- ski/snowshoe out, drive home

I'm not looking for an overly strenuous weekend, but I'd like to get to the dax in winter, and I'm dying to go camping.

Any takers?

okay- I've looked at the calendar now.

I thinking Feb. 18, 19, and 20. Yes, the 20th is a Monday, but it's Washington's b-day observed, so it might not be too hard to get a holiday.

Plan is still the same as above. Maybe Iroquios with Algonquin.

You may want to check out the "trips" section on www.thebackpacker.com . There is a trip called FYAO that is occuring that weekend. It would be relatively easy to latch on to.

Yuck, that's A LOT of people

The plan is Jessbee and I will drive to New York on the morning of Saturday, February 18. We'll camp Satruday and Sunday nights, hike on Sunday, maybe the other days too, and come back sometime on Monday. We'll most likely camp at Marcy Dam, or one of the other shelters between there and Avalanche Lake. The rest of the details will get worked out next week.

Anyone interested in coming along?
