Perkins Clearing-Pillsbury Mt

The road into Perkins Clearing is supposed to open 5/1, but may be open already.

We may be doing Pillsbury Mt soon and were wondering if anyone have any up to date info on the road ?

Last October I was able to drive my low clearance Geo to Pillsbury trailhead without a problem. There was a dicey section on a steep section above Sled Harbor with ruts and a rock outcropping jutting up in the road, but creeping along & slipping the clutch deftly got me through!

Please let me know conditions. I am planning to head up there in a few weeks with my little VW Golf with low clearance and am also a little concerned about conditons
