Went up the Ore bed route with a few fit newbies. Constant rain after JBL (thanks to George the caretaker for finding frozen Marcy bars even though you were closed- tip him well!) but no thunder and lightning.
Trail is in pretty good shape save for some larger blow down and water erosion above upper Ore bed river crossing, ladders and cables are good/same. Some snow still in col B/W Gothics and Saddleback- about 30' of trail covered. Wet friction, bruised newbie butts, no view, and 10hrs produced a bit of apoplexy and awe which was mostly washed away by the river crossings which raised by about 6-12 inches since the ascent-dicey for some.
Saturday we saw a group kayakers hoofing in for a descent of Johns Brook
serious creekin' time! ;)
