The USFS maintains a website which shows the active fires around the country, and it's rather easy to drill down for details. This can be useful, especially if you have a trip planned to the West Coast. In many places right now visibility is obscured due to smoke and haze related to fires, some of which will be allowed to burn themselves out. The smoke currently affects much of the Sierra Nevada range.

Consequently, if you look at the Mt St Helens videocam you can see that the poor visibility is most likely due to smoke from a nearby fire, and not weather-related. Same with Sequoia although unfortunately that NP is often subject to haze as a result of increasing photo chemical haze (pollution).

Looks like there's only one small one in the Asbestos National Forest (the Whites of NH) somewhat south of Lancaster.

Just noticed on the top of their webpage - there are also links to fires in Canada and Mexico.
