Is the road to upper works maintained in the winter, if so would you advise against taking a two wheel drive vehicle up it.

The road is plowed. Have snow tires, will travel just like any other road in the Adirondacks.

We've been on it several times this winter with a 2 wheel drive car. You just have to take it slow and easy!blacklab2020 said:

It's a County Road (CR25) so it is plowed... Can be sketchy at times but at least the snow fills in all the potholes!

My avatar photo was taken there last march. Worked out just fine. The strip mine is a little disturbing the first time, though.
