Looks like a beautiful weekend! Keep the water levels in mind, but they should be receding by the weekend. I've never seen the Pequawket River (Conway area) as high as it was last night. MELT, MELT, MELT!!! :D

Happy Trails :)

More details please

Hi Forest

Thanks for the report, but more details please! I really value getting reports from VFTT members who live in and near the mountains. Does that mean your area got a lot of rain? How do the summits areas look from valleys? I'm thinking of coming up to Whites this weekend, but I'm getting reports of major snow falls at 4000+ in last 2 weeks and now heavy rains.

I can't see the southern Whites yet this morning due to the fog, but we did get a lot of rain in the lowlands.

The hourly climatalogical reports (hourly reports collected at weather stations) can be very useful here. Most are for nearby towns (frequently airports), but they should still give you some clue to what has happened in the hills.

The following will help you read the above: http://www.nws.noaa.gov/er/box/obshelp.htm

There are other sources of the hourly reports available on the web--the above should be adequate.

In the mts we got snow on Sunday, Monday and this morning. It raining now but there is a ton of the white stuff around and we're suppose to get more snow tonight! If you drive four miles down the road, there's hardly any snow on the ground--I guess they got mostly rain. I bet snowshoeing and XC sking will be fun for the next few days until it warms up.
