Please join the Friends of Sandwich Range, the Friends of Wild River, and invited representatives of the US Forest Service on Thursday, July 5th 2007 at the Russell-Colbath Barn to celebrate the passage of the New England Wilderness Act of 2006, which expanded the existing Sandwich Range Wilderness and created a new Wild River Wilderness.

We will honor New Hampshire senators John Sununu and Judd Gregg, and former representatives Jeb Bradley and Charlie Bass, who passed this Act, following many years of citizen involvement and planning by the US Forest Service.

After the ceremony, field trips will be available to provide a close-up look at the new Wilderness and placement of new Wilderness boundary markers.

The public is cordially invited! Reception begins at 9AM. For further information please visit www.whywilderness.org A detailed schedule is available in PDF format near the bottom of the home page.
