This afternoon I was itching to get the snowshoes out so I went over to the local hill for a little hike. The trail from Doetown Rd. in Rumney had previously been used by cross country skiers and a couple bare booters. Snowshoes weren't absolutely essential but it made traction a lot better, I used them all the way up and down. There was about a foot of snow from the past storm, the trail is now nicely packed out. If you're looking for a smaller mountain for a winter warm up Stinson is a pleasant hike. Didn't see a soul, nice views from the top to the south (Baker River Valley.)
Note: The trail shares part of the way with a snowmobile trail, only about 300 yards max before splitting off again to the right. No noisy sled sightings today.
