If breaking trail in utter solitude is your thing, the Ossipee Range is the place for you! The weather was gorgeous and I was the only hiker on the unbroken trail. These well-marked easy trails (on the Castle in the Clouds property) never disappoint for a winter warm-up. Carried full-winter gear: used snowshoes, trekking poles, hat and gloves. An early afternoon snow squall made for near-white out conditions on Turtleback. Only two more weeks 'til winter!
