Trail Conditions: wonderful snow, well packed trail via many snowshoers before our group of 8! No blow downs to deal with, just lots of snow creatures that mysteriously have little faces with smiles on them!
Special Equipment Required: snowshoes absolutely necessary to prevent postholing! No need for crampons or stabilicers. The snow is some of the best I've seen for snowshoeing. No balling under the crampons, light snow, not sticky...just plain gorgeous!
Group of 8 MOAC'ers up to visit Mt. Field (with side trip to Avalon). We were a bit in the clouds, but as Erik put it, it was very ethereal!
