Bushwack of Hemlock,Spruce,Fir,Big Indian ,hard snow softening as day went on, crampons needed ,snowshoes, stabilizers usless. Much blowdown from April, and other storms.
Very,very slow going.
Big Indian, Eagle, Haynes along WB-Pinehill Trail bare, Icy, snowy: damned if you do, damned if you don't conditions for footwear: crampons, stabliizers, bareboot down Mckinnly Hlw.
Luckily stream crossing were at the end of trip.
A long tough bushwack,hard to follow trail after dark, but a good group and star filled sky to guide us home.
