At lower elevations, the trail had little snow with rocks, roots and even leaves showing through. Able to bear boot it quite a ways beyond the lean to; most of the way up the steep section. Once the trail leveled off and the traverse to the first false summit began, there was a fair amount of snow and snowshoes were required. It looked like a dusting of fresh snow was laid down over night. Used the shoes all the way to the summit. Some hardy sole barebooted it all the way to Panther the day before. That had to be alot of work. Saw only one other person all day long and that was on the summit of Panther. He had come up via Giant Ledges.

Snowshoes required. Did not need crampons, stabilicers etc. In fact, I did not even carry my crampons today based ont he conditions yesterday.
