Crunchy crust on well packed trail to Marcy Dam. Several inches of fresh snow under crunchy crust on way to Avalanche Pass and Lake Arnold. Trail up Colden was snowed over/blown in with 6", sometimes the crust held the snowshoes, sometimes it punched through. Trail over to Indian Falls had some fresh snow/crunchy top and a previous postholed path the whole way, lots of tree branches bent over into the trail from ice. Trail up Phelps was well packed. Wore MSR snowshoes the whole day and the crampons came along for the ride.
