Trail Conditions: Hard pack snow well packed by about 15 hikers mostly in snowshoes. On Stony Brook trail is pretty easy to follow. Blazes are still visible at about 3 feet to 1 foot about snow pack. One spot where there are tracks going left straight and right, go right. The other two are dead ends. At junction with Carter Moriah Trail the sign is about a foot above the snowpack and partly obscured by trees. No tracks south on C-M. From the junction to the Moriah spur followed previous tracks. Didn't see any blazes but did pass a couple cairns. Lots of low lying branches and pushing through trees. May not have been on the true trail, but it got us there. A few points where tracks go in different directions, in general follow the left track. At junction with spur to Moriah sign for C-M trail is at ankle level and obscured by branches.

Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes essential. Some barebooted for sections but eventually put their snowshoes on. One that didn't have snowshoes wished they did.

Comments: Good views on C-M trail from Stony brook to Moriah. This 1.5 miles sectioned seemed to take a decpetively long time though compared to the 3.5 miles on Stony Brook.
