Date of hike: March 2, 2008

Trail conditions: The trail was in good condition (open) for the first 1,5 mile. After that: 12 to 18 inches of new powder (and up to 24 inches in some places above 3500 ft). Easy to follow and just 2 or 3 small blowdowns. Bushwhack to Stony Brook Mtn: easy bushwhack (open wood) but a LOT of snow (at least 16 inches of new powder).

Special equipement required: Snowshoes and hiking poles.

Comment: A very hard climb in the snow strom, with my brother. We did not climb South Crocker (already climbed in winter). Even during the descent, we broke the trail again on 4 to 6 inches of new powder. We climbed Stony Brook Mtn on our way back. It was interesting to read some old post of peakbaggers how are working on (or have completed) the New England 3000 Footers. #91 of the Winter 115.

Name: Danny.
