Trail conditions: Trail in excellent shape and was my first snow-free hike of the year.... hooray! Mostly well-blazed with the exception of a couple of the road walks where it was helpful to have the guidebook in hand. Lawrence Swamp was surprisingly free of bugs (though it was sprinkling in the morning so that may have helped the situation.) A few black flies on Mt. Orient but they weren't too bothersome.

Comments: A nice easy section made the 14 miles fly by. Not a lot of vistas on this section, but we did see a white-tailed deer, great blue heron and plenty of wildflowers (plus I saw a flock of turkeys on the drive up.) A very enjoyable spring hike.

Team: Rocksnrolls, Silent Cal, Greenwood and me.

Pictures here.
