Trails: mt. stanton trail, mt.parker trail, davis path

Trail Conditions: no pesky monorails here... mt. parker trail has apparently not been used in quite some time. there are still pockets of deep, wet snow on north-facing slopes and in shaded areas. plenty of postholing opportunities and numerous blowdowns. mt. stanton trail is pretty much snow free. davis path has some snow, particularly from the resolution shelter to the stairs mtn. summit spur, but is in pretty good shape from the crawford spur down to 302.

Special Equipment Required: gore tex boots and gaiters essential. trekking poles with snow baskets very helpful. we did not bring snowshoes and could have used them, although we'd have been changing in and out of them often. we brought stabilicers but did not use them. bugs not bad, a few ticks, black flies negligible.

Comments: this was a challenging 16-mile warm-up for our presi traverse in June. We earned our apres-hike carbo replenishment fermented beverages. Thanks Tim for a great day. photos - www.pbase.com/jonathantr.
