hello. i was wondering how bad the blackflies are on Mt Greylock this time of year. i was planning to hike this saturday (May 8th)

They should not be a problem this weekend, especially if it stays cool. The bottom of the Hopper trail will probably be muddy.

No flies this past week!
I was on the top of Greylock on Tuesday and didn't see any black flies.
I actually saw 2 hikers and 2 yelping beagles - the dogs were having the times of their lives and didn't stop running and must have been on the scent of something?!
