South Hancock and Mt. Hancock 5/26/08
Hancock Notch Trail: Muddy in spots, some standing water nothing too bad
Cedar Brook Trail: Again muddy, all brook crossings easy
Hancock Loop Trail: Up South still a rotting monorail until the last tenth to the summit. The ridge is a mix of monorail and deep soft snow all of it badly postholed. Had to bushwack around 2 large pools through 2-3 feet of soft snow. Down Hancock snow free until you hit the brook then some rotting monorail heading back up to the trail junction.
Special equipment: light traction to get up south peak, snowshoes might help on the ridge. gaiters essential
