Conditions: Dry trails, except for a side road that went down to the water. Beavers had flooded it, but we got through. Great beaver lodge!
Special equipment: None.
Remarks: Beautiful day. After spotting two cars at Gate 45, our group of ten drove down to Gate 47 where we started our trek. Lots of beautiful wildflowers wild geraniums, wild columbine, starflowers, etc. We ate our lunch by the shore and enjoyed the whole day. Only met one other hiker, and two DEC people working on drainage ditches, and another DEC employee who told us about a fern walk that he was leading. Nice breezes, so the bugs were minimal. Out to Gate 47.
Great walk with a nice group of people.
