From Success Pond Rd. from Berlin side, beginning of trail tangled blowdowns two tough brook crossings though we could have walked the gravel road nearby to avoid that. Pretty wet up above, numerous blowdowns but we were able to get over them easily. May Cutoff minor wetness, great alpine bog up there not in full bloom yet. Mahoosuc to Speck Pond had some snow and ice patches near the pond. Campsite shelter missed being nailed by a large old fir blowdown about a foot away from the back edge. Deep snow patches from campsite back up to MCO junction, blondie postholed up to her waist once or twice I tried not to laugh too hard!! Old Speck in and out of clouds today,the pond was the objective. Success Pond Rd. in good shape from B town.
