The Caribou Valley Rd is not too bad if you have a 4WD, but with my compact car I had to stop two miles from rte 16. Being by myself, I didn't take any chance. I thought walking extra miles is easier for me than paying for a broken car. The last mile is very bad though.
The AT up to South Crocker is dry and nice. I found many patches of snow on Redington.
There's a maze of herd paths around the summit of South Crocker, the right one to Redington is the one that goes straight Southwest ;-) Flagging all the way.
