Over the weekend, one of the peaks I had the pleasure of climbing was Horse Mountain. A former fire tower peak, I'd heard the the summit still had nice views from open ledges. However, what I found was that on the true summit, there are no views at all, and not much of a reason to visit it, unless one wants to see the footings of the old fire tower or the triangulation station. This mountain's views actually are to be found at the end of the spur path that leads to the eastern outlook, which has decent views to the north, east, and south.

I only mention this because when I climbed Horse, I went to the outlook first, but held off on taking many pictures because I thought the views from the true summit would be better. However, once I found that they weren't, I then back tracked to the eastern ledges to capture more of the views on film.
