Bearfort Ridge NJ

Tuco and I had what may be the first NJ VFTT get together - 2 Jersey residents on a Jersey trail. The trail was a loop trail with hiking along an open ridge. The trail that takes you past a small lake - Surprise Lake- and gives you great views of another lake - Greenwood Lake. It was a gorgeous day on Sunday for the hike - blue skies, sunny, not too hot. For those planning on attending the NJ get together it will show that there are some nice hikes in NJ.

That's a nice hike, I've been there... Another great hike is in the Newark Watershed area over in West Milford, there's a furnace to explore, a firetower with awesome views and just really nice hiking.

I was in Rhode Island or else I would of joined you folks... can't pass a Jersey gathering!

Was really a beautiful day as you said, and a hike that I always enjoy. Next time I am going to have to pay attention to trail markings, though
