Trail Conditions: great, a few insignificant muddy spots. Stream crossings doable, we waded across two except for one of us who rock hopped across Lincoln Brook. Slide wet at the top. A gorgeous day.

Special Equipment: poles for stream crossings and coming down the slide.

Comments: This was number 48 for me!! I started at age 12 and am now 62! Is this a record for longest time to complete the list? I obsessed about Owls Head for a long time, and it was not as half as bad as my fears. Coming down the slide was the most difficult part of the hike. The views from the ledges were really beautiful. Thanks to VFTT, the trail reports helped a lot. And thanks to all those who hiked with me over many years.
