Started the hike on Wilderness Trail when still dark, to avoid coming out in the dark. Very neat to see the sky slowly lighten. Hiked with Denise, Bob, Irene, Jean, Jane, and Patty( I hope I got those names right).Denise(our leader) kept us at a steady pace! Franconia Brook Trail very muddy in spots. Bob led us on bushwack to save 2 miles and avoid water crossings. Ran into some bogs and mud in the bushwack. Alas,my hiking pole got wrecked when it caught in a tree. Gorgeous day! Sunscreen, poles, and lots of food helpful. I really liked ascending Owl's Slide, had a lot of energy. Had to be careful of slippery spots and loose rocks. Great day!
Have left the Bonds and Wildcats.
