As always, the Quabbin is wonderful to walk in. Gate 29 leaves from Route 202, and goes in about two-three miles to the water. There are many side roads to explore. It is a beautiful walk at any time of year; but especially with the foliage as beautiful as it is this year.

No special equipment needed for this walk. Just eyes for the scenery and ears for the wildlife that is always present here.

Anyone else like to hike in the Quabbin? Start posting trip reports. It's not as exciting as the mountains, but it is close to home.
