Trail conditions: Lots of hidden ice under a dusting of snow down low. As you descend towards the first crossing of Rocky Branch, more ice, some solid, but some giving way to pools of muddy water underneath. First river crossing just a bit tricky, narrow ice bridge held up throughout the day. Second crossing a little easier. Bushwhacked around third and fourth crossings. Fifth crossing easiest of them all. However, easy is a relative term here. All of the crossings were a bit shaky and there's no telling if those ice bridges will still be there in a few days. Past the crossings and up to the summit, the going got easier as there was more snow and less ice. Windy all day with strong gusts on the summit. Summit socked in, no views.

Special equipment required: Full winter gear, Stabilicers or Microspikes strongly recommended. There was a lot of slipping and falling today from the members of our party who chose to bareboot.
