14" powder at the TrailHead, 2' - waist high drifts along ridge

Full winter conditions, deep unbroken powder, temps in low teens, snowing and windy.

We used gortex shells, gaitors, and (stabilicers on the ice-bulges right before you hit the ridge.) We did'nt bring snowshoes and I don't think they would have worked well in the unconsolidated snow conditions that we experienced.

We planned for a cold winter hike with a few inches of snow. The amount of snow really had an impact on the final outcome. We got a late start and after plowing through the powder all day, we ran out of daylight (and energy), probably about 3 tenths from the summit.
