Trail Conditions: Edmands Path was in nice shape. Packed snow at bottom, less packed 1/2 way up, ice and rock at summit of Eisenhower. Crawford Path in nice shape to summit of Pierce - ice and packed snow. Crawford Path from summit of Pierce descending to Crawford Connector is roughed up. It appears that some people bare booted in unpacked snow and created a narrow rut about 1 to 1.5 feet deep in the trail. It has since hardened but not so much that one won't posthole n some spots when not wearing snowshoes. Also the rut is too narrow to comfortably snowshoe now. The path needs a good dump of snow to fill in the rut. There is one downed tree about 1/2 way down on this section of Crawford Path.

Special Equipment Required: Snow was packed enough to bare-boot 1/2 way up Edmands Path. Used snowshoes from this point to just below summit of Eisenhower - necessary to avoid postholing. Switched to crampons at this point and stayed in them for the rest of the trip. Had the trail from the summit of Pierce down been in better shape I would have used snowshoes.

Comments: Great weather conditions - some wind at summits but not bad. Very nice views of the other Presidentials and farther summits and valleys.
