I am considering buying either the Montrail CTC Mid GTX or the Montrail Hardrock Mid GTX boot. I am locked into Montrail as I have a warranty credit from them for a pair of waterproof boots that really weren’t. I considered the Montrail Torre also, but I dayhike and it seems too heavy duty (and too heavy) for dayhikes. I need a waterproof boot for the early spring and late fall. Late spring through early fall I wear trail runners, and in the winter I wear insulated boots.
