Trail conditions: The recent ice storm has devastated the lower part of this trail. Multiple blow downs have cluttered the path making it difficult to pass. I don't know what the trail conditions are are higher up, but i can imagine the same.
Special equipment: chainsaw would be very helpful...and a headlamp when you're hiking at night.
