Trail Conditions: Hard packed good footing in spots..some water running down the trail above Flume Slide cutoff..Some icy spots under 2 inches of fluff.. Ridge varied from being very narrow and badly postholed to some hardpacked windblown snow to knee deep drifts..some pretty good ice along the top couple hundred feet


Water crossings open with some bare ground wet leaves running water down below

Equipment: were the trail not as narrow snowshoes with traction..MSR's would have been perfect today but they were hard to use consistantly over the uneven footbed..we used G-10s, microspikes, and mini crampons.. The only one who stayed with the same traction all day wore the microspikes

Comment: nice day in the woods with Silent Sam and Sleeveless getting their first winter 4Ks..more comments in Trip report section
