Date of Hike: 01/03/09
Trail Conditions: All trails broken out at least as far as Middle Carter. It looked like someone kept going to South Carter, there were snowshoe tracks headed that way. The trails were packed down nicely. Use care at crossings, they're not all frozen. Several blowdows, easily navigated.
Special Equipment: We put snowshoes on at about 4K, but we probably would have moved faster if we used them from the start.
The wind was blowing 40+ on the Carter-Moriah Trail, hats, face covers, shells...you know, it's winter!
Comments: Another fine day up north with LarryD and Marty. Lunch at the Moat Mountain Smokehouse, and then home.
