Trail Conditions: The Jewell trail is now well broken. We broke 6-8 inches of powder on a consolidated base. On the Jewell trail above tree line it gets rocky and icy but we still kept our snowshoes on. They were still useful for much of the travel to Jefferson.
Special Equipment Reguired: snowshoes were necessary for below tree line and useful above tree line.
Comments: Beautiful day, temp. zero degrees, light wind. The powder we broke through was very light and fluffy.
