Location
here; sometimes there
It's that time of year again. The mountain laurel is coming. Post your sightings or favorite locations here.

I've seen a few blooms by my (long) driveway in northwest CT.

Favorite locations: the AT between Mt. Everett and Jug End by the intersection with the Elbow Trail. Also anywhere in that vicinity, really.

The Mt. Laurel in my yard was really pretty last week... but the flowers are pretty much gone already.

I agree with your spot along the AT -- saw lots of Mt. Laurel in that area last year.

gone already?

I must have been cooped up to much recently. I've barely seen any. Certainly no full blooms - just scattered ones.
Yikes.

HARRIMAN STATE PARK is the place in the lower NYS area. Also CT and NJ are very close to this park. Almost every lake is ringed with Mtn. Laurel.

In particular try hiking the short Surebridge Mine Road. It passes thru a Laurel and Great Laurel Swamp. It is one of my favorite places in the world
